With a beat machine in hand and a vision, Mark "Chop Diesel " Curry and Donald "Joey Lightfingaz" Woolfolk , both from Jersey City, N.J. started The Dream Team. Being that they were from very humble beginnings, they knew that they would have to elevate their talents to the next level. So in 1999 they did just that and landed a joint venture with Urban Wolves Ent. Within 3 short months they were embraced by accomplished producers The Trackmasters, who signed them to Columbia Records after a 20 minute listening session. The Dream Team sound has definitely come a long way and has since blessed some of the highest rated commercial and underground artist of the past and present such as: 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Teddy Riley, Run-DMC, Diddy, Loon, Nas, Tony Yayo, Cory Gunz, Ray J, Maino, Red Cafe, Papoose, Baby(of The Cash Money Millionaires), Masspike Miles, Naughty By Nature, Az, Foxy Brown, Ali Vegas, D.J. Kay Slay, Fat Joe, Joe Budden, K-Ci, Dru Hill, Dave Hollister, Joe, Amerie, Keysha Cole, India Arie, Super Cat, and Stephanie Mills. During the Super Bowl XXXVII of 2003 Dr. Pepper launched its "Be You" campaign through a commercial featuring LL Cool J and Run-DMC and The Dream Team's signature production. They also been recognized in publications such as XXL Magazine's "Production Credit" column in 2003, in the television world as judges on BET's 106 & Park "Freestyle Friday" in 2005, also being interviewed by Ralph "Uncle Ralph" McDaniels on Video Music Box in 2006. Some of their most recent production credits includes DJ Kay Slay's club banger "Thug Love" featuring Ray J, Maino, Red Cafe, and Papoose, "Face Off" by Tony Yayo off of 50 Cent's "Before I Self Destruct" movie featuring fellow Jersey City Artist Ransom and Cory Gunz plus another banger for LL Cool J titled "Feel My Heartbeat" featuring 50 Cent for his 13th and final Def Jam release "Exit 13".
In 2011 they officially made a name change to “Tha Official Dream Team” and began working in the studio with Masspike Miles of Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group. In summer of 2012 they are also made small cameo appearences on TV One's reality show "R&B Divas" starring R&B singers Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Keke Wyatt, Monifah Carter and Syleena Johnson. Where they produced a single for Keke Wyatt called “I Love You”.
Now in 2014 with newly added production partner Omotayo “Dean” Ojo they have worked with Teddy Riley’s production company TR Music Group to work on several up coming projects including producing Riley’s latest underground release “Teddy’s Jam 4” (Chauncey & Guy diss). So keep your eyes and most of all your ears open for that official "Dream Team" sound.
