Lexus Arnel Lewis better known by his stage name Lex Luger, is an American record producer from Suffolk, Virginia who is signed to 1017 Brick Squad Records. The basis for his stage name came from professional wrestler Lex Luger. Career Luger started his career by playing drums and learning about beats, measures, and bars. He started experimenting with an MPC 2000 that he bought from his uncle and finally began using the PC-based digital audio workstation Fruity Loops, which he uses to this day. In each of his productions, he has become known for using his signature electronic sounding "build-up" in the beginning and middle of the songs, usually before a beat drop. Waka Flocka Flame's "Hard in the Paint" was Luger's first instrumental to hit the radio waves. Luger was in Atlanta when he first heard the song playing on the radio. Also, while in Atlanta, Luger got a phone call from Kanye West, although he didn't realize to whom he was talking for almost 30 minutes. After realizing who it was, Luger excitedly agreed to fly to New York City to work with Kanye. He eventually created eight backing beats for Kanye's use, including the beat of the single H•A•M.[citation needed] Luger also produced tracks on Rick Ross's Teflon Don, Waka Flocka Flame's Flockaveli, Slim Thug's Tha Thug Show, and Kanye West's and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne. Luger records for Mizay Entertainment. Luger also worked with artists such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Wale ,Juicy J, Soulja Boy, Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Lil Wyte , Tyga, Rich Hil, and Fat Trel .[citation needed] At the 2011 BET Awards, Lex had won the award for Producer of the Year.
