The perception of AI in music production often gets a bad rap—”no soul,” “lacks human touch,” and so on. But when it comes to mastering music, does AI still fall short?

In this video, we put AI mastering assistants head-to-head against professional human mastering engineers. We hit the road to Brighton Electric to test musicians and producers and find out:

👉 Can musicians & producers tell the difference?
👉 Which master will be their favorite?
👉 And can YOU guess correctly?

We used IK Multimedia’s T-Racks Master Match X & iZotope Ozone’s Mastering Assistant to build up the AI masters, and two professional mastering engineers in the UK for our human masters.
