Promoting your music on social media can be frustrating to those who would rather just focus on music and not on digital marketing. Growing a fan base, building a website, and spending time marketing to strangers on the internet isn’t everyone cup of tea. Recently I was attacked for my open and ongoing emphasis on the importance of social media and digital marketing by someone who professed that success could be found without social media or having to be online. With their argument fresh in my mind, I set out to develop a strategy based on their belief system and after a few days I believe I was able to put together a strategy for those who would prefer to stay true to their craft, and build their audience without feeling obligated to be online or on social media.
