“The Making of Foreign Allegiance” is a series highlighting the events that transpire while preparing the official launch of the company Foreign Allegiance.
Music producers Brandon Corder and Bengie Garrett were both diligently pursuing individual careers when they realized a mutual drive for success. After going through individual experiences, their love for music and desire to bring their vision to the masses brought them together in collaboration to create the production power house, Foreign Allegiance. Corder, 28, started off with a keyboard and electronic drum set at the age of 13. He steadily built a collection of studio equipment by treating himself to a new instrument each Christmas. Around the same age, Garrett, began making beats on Sony PlayStation video game “MTV Music Generator”. Garrett, now 29, transitioned from rapping into a career as a studio engineer and producer, a result of making beats for himself to rap over. Studying under veteran Flint producer Bernard Terry, he would hone his skills and land records with Snoop Dogg, Akon, Dayton Family and others. Corder's first big break was producing "Ova N Out," a song by Trademark Da Skydiver and Curren$y, a New Orleans emcee who became one of the indie rap world's most respected artists after record deals with Master P and Lil Wayne. The song established Corder as a go-to producer for Curren$y's Jet Life crew and a reputable producer for other well-known artists. He would later nab placements with shows on MTV, VH1 and other indie rap staples including Dee-1 and Lecrae. Now, after years of nabbing placements with more established acts, they’ve focused on building their own material from the ground up. Together they bring their talents and experience, creating their own brand focused on music and creative entities. http://www.foreign-allegiance.com/ http://www.facebook.com/ForeignAllegiance http://twitter.com/ForeignAllegnce http://twitter.com/bcorderbeats http://twitter.com/benngiie https://soundcloud.com/ForeignAllegiance
