For more than 12 years, Sam has honed his creative ear and fine tuned his technical music skills as award-winning top mixing and tracking engineer. His work takes him to New York, LA, Miami, and Atlanta, recently allowing him to mix for the likes of India.Arie, Chris Brown, Johnny Gill, Joe, Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber, Day 26, Danity Kane, Monica, Ginuwine, Ciara, and Toni Braxton. In 2006 Mary J. Blige's album "The Breakthrough" won a Grammy for Best R&B Album and also won "Best R&B Song" for the Single "Be Without You" In 2008, Mary J. Blige’s album “Growing Pains” won a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album recorded by Sam. In 2009, India.Arie’s “Pearls” won a Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance mixed by Sam, making his work a part of 20 Grammy winning and Grammy nominated projects to date. In 2010 Sam worked on the sound production and design for the Pepsi World Cup 2010 Commercial with Akon, Keri Hilson, The Soweto Choir , and contest winners from all around the world. Also in 2010 Sam worked with the Talented Mariah Carey on her latest Merry Christmas II album, song titled "Oh Santa" with producers Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri. In 2011 Sam Mixed for Ginuwine, Johnny Gill, Thomas Barnette, Kink Ador, Tedashii, Lacrae, Missy Modell, Prince Malik, Sierra Symone, to name a few... 2012 has started out to be pretty good so far, be on the lookout for my recording and mix work on Nate Currin, Margie Chadburn and Neil Cribbs new albums all produced by Simon Illa.
