Darren Martyn is a London based multi-talented singer, songwriter and “multi-platinum selling” record producer. He has worked alongside many great companies in the music business such as Bucks Music Group, Warner Chappell, Warner Music, Sony, EMI, Universal, BMG, Insanity, Karma Artists, London Boy Ent, Phrased Differently, only to name a few.
Darren signed his first major publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music in (2004-2010). Within this time he worked with some highly awarded producers, writers and artists all over the world. Some of his UK collaborations include Tinie Tempah, Ironik, Kele Le Roc, Shola Ama and many more. In the UK Darren was mostly recognized for writing Sadie Ama’s ‘Fallin’ (Ministry Of Sound), writing and producing Fugative’s ground-breaking record ‘Summertime’ (GUT Records), Darren Martyn ft Tinie Tempah ‘My Girl’ (DMP), Denzee ft Lucy Danielle ‘Sorry Part 2’and Sadie Ama’s ‘Those Were The Days’ ft Bashy (Island/Universal).
In 2009 Darren had his first break in Japan. The rest was history. He went on to producing Shinee’s Korean No.1 hit ‘Keeping Love Again’ (EMI), Yuka Masaki’s Japan top 10 hit ‘Change Myself’ and penned records for many other Asia acts such as Crystal Kay, W-inds, Kat Tun, Super Junior, only to name a few. Darren’s major releases in Japan and Korea has gone in to double figures and still growing.
Outside of the studio Darren has provided numerous workshops for the leading music organizations across London such as Urban Development, UK Unsigned, Rising Tide and DV8 Training. Within these courses he provided workshops on how to create your own label, vocal tuition, song-writing and production workshops. He has developed singers/rappers into artists and helped some artists on to the next platform finding their feet and becoming known in their own right.
Summer 2014, Darren co-wrote UK girl group M.O’s single ‘Dance On My Own’, which hit all major radio and TV stations nationwide, was nominated for a 2014 MOBO Award and hit way over 1,000,000 Youtube views. Topping that Darren signed his 2nd 3 year major publishing deal with Bucks Music Group (signed in October 2014). He is currently working on some very exciting projects with signed and unsigned including Mic Lowry (Decca/Universal), Melissa Steele (Atlantic), Krishane (Atlantic), Union J (RCA), Luke Friend (RCA), Made In Chelsea actor Andy Jordan, New Bounce (BGT), Ava Rose (New Act), Goldee (New Act), only to name a few.
