From the influence of classical music to the importance of authenticity and persistence, ATL Jacob’s creative process and experiences as a music producer are a testament to his unique approach to his craft.

One of Jacob’s unique working dynamics involves the active presence of a group of cheerleaders who continually hype him up during his studio sessions. These sessions, where Jacob is at the piano, aren’t just about creating music; they’re about creating a positive, energetic atmosphere conducive to the creative process.

A significant influence on Jacob’s style as a producer is classical music. This might be surprising, given the contemporary beats he’s known for, but it’s the complexity and intricacy of classical compositions that have shaped his approach towards beat-making.

A noteworthy episode from Jacob’s journey involves rapper Young Scooter, who gave Jacob a new tagline during a recording session. Interestingly, this tagline was coined while Scooter was eating spaghetti, adding a dash of the casual and unexpected to the high-pressure recording process.

Jacob’s journey into music production began in his early teens, inspired by artists like Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, and Future. It was the beat in “Chosen One” that compelled him to start making his own beats around the seventh or eighth grade, marking the onset of his journey in music production.

In terms of his working environment, Jacob prefers a dimly lit space and often works alone. This solitude and specific ambiance are key to fostering his creativity and allowing him to focus on his craft.

Among the artists Jacob has worked with, Kodak Black stands out. They collaborated on an unfinished project where Jacob added drums to the mix. Despite Black recording on it months later, the track remains unfinished, reflecting the often unpredictable and non-linear nature of creative work.

Jacob firmly believes in the importance of honesty and persistence in his work with artists. As a producer, he sees the value in being himself and not just saying yes to every artist’s whim. He emphasizes the need for producers to stay persistent, reinforcing the idea that success in the music industry is a long game.

ATL Jacob’s journey serves as a reminder that the music production process goes beyond mere technical expertise. It is about creating the right environment, drawing from diverse influences, and maintaining authenticity and resilience throughout the journey.
