Cassius Jay, real name Josh Cross, is a 28 year old music producer born and raised in Decatur, Georgia. His parents raised him in a church environment, and were a major influence on him. He credits his parents with inspiring him to become a musician.Cassius Jay’s production career started in 2009, when he worked under the schooling of industry vet Don Vito. Cassius Jay credits Don Vito with helping him to develop his signature “kick” on production tracks. He has no problem collaborating with other music producers; Cassius Jay learned his business savvy working with Nitti Beats, and he’s currently working with Zaytoven.
Cassius Jay produced Atlanta singer Lloyd’s club hit “All of Me”, which featured MMG rapper Wale. He also produced “I’mma be Alright” for Real House Wives of Atlanta/ Kandi Factory star Kandi Burress. The biggest production of Cassius Jay’s career thus far is Justin Bieber’s “Fa La La”, which featured 90’s R&B legends Boyz II Men. To date the song has over 20 million views on Youtube. “Fa La La” was featured on Justin Bieber’s 2011 album “Under the Mistletoe”, which is certified platinum, and went #1 in several countries world wide, including Canada and the US. Cassius Jay’s newest production can be heard on new comer August Alsina’s song “Let me Hit that” featuring New Orleans rapper Curren$y. Cassius Jay is currently working up productions for rappers Gucci Maine, Young Scooter, and many more.
