Created with London-based cellist Reinoud Ford and recorded at Spitfire Studios, the library captures an upfront, characterful solo voice with natural vibrato and breathing dynamics. It moves from tender lyricism to fragile, unsettling textures — equally at home in intimate melodic writing and darker cinematic scoring.
Across 11 presets, Lucy explores articulations including Long Mournful, Long Flautando, Long Aggressive, Long No Rosin, Long Circular, and Short Mandolin Pizz. The techniques run from whispered bow colour and evolving sound beds to scratchier, more visceral performance.
Three mic signals shape the sound in the mix. Close brings clear solo detail, Room captures the acoustic of Spitfire Studios, and Vintage adds analogue warmth through a treated ribbon-mic chain. Built-in reverb, EQ, tightness, and release controls shape the tone, space, and response from inside the plugin.
Lucy closes with a short composition that moves between soft ambience, lyrical writing, and more unsettled scoring textures, layering the cello with Originals Intimate Strings, Cinematic Pads, and Symphonic Motions.
