There’s two ways to making 808 Glide in FL Studio or 808 Slide In FL Studio! One of them is a little more intricate and the other you feel it a little more when you play the keys live. So we’ll do the first one, when you play the keys live. Don’t worry about these ghost notes right now, I’m going to explain how to make 808 glide in FL Studio or 808 slide in FL Studio to you.

This is the pattern – I’m using a reference file from my new single it’s called “GOODASGOLD” and if you enjoy it, you like the drop and you wanna listen to it, the links are below at the bottom.

    Number 1)
So basically you hear the 808 glide in FL Studio is the *JEEEEOUUUUU* like it’s going from one note to another, instead of it being one F# to one F#, it’s going from F#, and then going thru all 12 notes before hitting the next F#. Instead of playing, one and then the other. It’s called a portamento, that’s the technical term, it’s called a portamento. So you basically want to go to your 808 glide in FL Studio, this is the first way you want to do it, go to your MISC tab in the sample settings after clicking the sample in the pattern window. You want ot make sure your CUT and CUT BY, you want to click “CUT ITSELF” and basically what you’re doing here is setting it to where when you play one note and then another, it doesn’t trail off on the tail of the sample. So it will cut the 808 glide in FL Studio and play the next sample note, rather than the bass in the sample blending into one another. So definitely make sure thats clicked. That’s first, number 2, you want to go to the polyphony, you have to make sure the portamento, or the PORTA is selected, and then your SLIDE knob, is the time that it takes for the slide to take from one note to another. So if I turn it all the way down, its not doing anything. If you turn it all the way up, then you start getting that glide. So, number one, basically you just figure out what settings you like for your 808 glide in FL Studio record.

Number 2) The second way to make 808 glides in FL Studio would be to draw it in. So if you turn this off, and pretend its not even on at all. And you still want to be able to do it, then you’re going to create glide notes. And you do that by double clicking and holding the second click to create a glide note. You can see the different methods, like this one has a little diagonal on it and then these ones don’t. So if I put this here, they just play single notes, but if I click and hold, BOOM – it turns into a glide note. And then the length of the note, is how long it take for the glide to hit that note.
So for example, you hear the 808 glide, in FL Studio but if I make it smaller, then the 808 glide is quick. It snaps up faster, but if i make it longer, then it takes its time. So basically those are the 2 ways to make 808 glide or 808 slide notes in FL Studio.

If you want to learn more or any more tips and tricks of how to make your 808s stand out, how to blend them nicer in the mix, making sure that your low end doesn’t have any phasing issues or sound muddy so that all your instrumentals can cut thru the mix and sound very very good – check out my other YouTube videos. I also have other tutorials on Pro Tools and Traktor if your DJ, Ableton if you like doing live performances or remixes on the fly. And if you have any question please ask them in the comment section below. I will help you out and see if I can do a tutorial video on it and give you as much information as I have on it. Growing up in northern Miami, there was always an issue that had to be dealt with. There had to be a way to escape. There had to be something they could do to elude their everlasting problems. Everyone had their own way. He had his. While being introduced to music at a young age, Daniel Sado, formally known as ‘Draydel,’ also had the opportunity to become involved with the lyrical expression of music as well. With kids freestyling behind the school, and the late night mixes on the radio, this made for the perfect combination to spark an everlasting love for the art. With much research, and many months saving money, Draydel bought his first pair of turntables at the age of 12. Ever since then, his love for music has expanded and grown into something more than just a hobby. It’s his life. He began searching through his parent’s attic, looking for old record albums to practice with. When he found the crates, he took a few back into his room and began cutting them up – until his dad found out. Furious, his father threatened to smash his turntables and grounded him for a while. This gave Draydel some time to sit and think about the ‘hobby’ he might be pursuing. At last, when his punishment ended, the decision was made to stick with what he loved, music. Draydel expanded his love for music into many other elements such as graffiti, MCing, DJing and b-boying. Needless to say, DJing was the most predominant characteristic of them all, so he narrowed in on that, and expanded his knowledge. He moved his way into the producing aspect of music just a year later, at the age of 14. With no one by his side, Draydel learned everything the hard way – from scratch. Sitting in his room for hours going through each sound until he found one he liked, started to become a daily routine. At just 19 years old, Draydel entered a beat battle held by T-Pain’s Tour DJ (at the time), DJ Lil Boy up in Tallahasse which is the home of T-Pain. To make a long story short, he performed at the highest level and gained Lil Boy’s attention and wanted to sign Draydel instantaneously. After a few closed door conversations, Draydel, his manager and DJ Lil Boy agreed on the numbers and he was now a part of their team! After a year, Draydel moved back down to Miami but continuously works with them even after moving back. After the move back down to South FL, he landed himself a job as an Audio Engineer & Record Producer in the Hip-Hop Department at Critical Recording Studios. Constant daily grinding and hard work paid off and he eventually got a promotion as the ‘Hip-Hop Department Manager’ on top of his already lengthy resume. During all of this, Draydel finished building his website and began managing singer/songwriter Senerio, who later then moved to New York City. Draydel began landing gigs at local night clubs at the same time finishing up recording Senerio’s second album, Eden. Currently he is teamed up with local producer, Klaudiophile, to create an EDM Production group called “StikShift” which begins touring first quarter of 2015. In the mean time, Draydel continues to collaborate on records with local and well known artists throughout the world to spread positivity and timeless music. Draydel’s style is nothing less than head turning. His style doesn’t only focus on hip hop beats, but with his background of music and love for all genres, he has a versatile ear for creating music from each end of the musical spectrum – scoring films to EDM and creating pop music. Currently residing in Miami, Draydel plans to continue on with creating his legacy by any means necessary. As a Record Producer, Audio Engineer, DJ, Web/GFX Designer, Videographer as well as a personal manager of an artist all at the same time, Draydel continues to surprise. With 25+ mixtapes under his belt, there are no plans on stopping anytime in the near future. Thousands of beats & sessions have been placed under his belt, hoping one day soon, someone will see the talent he has, and the rest will be history. http://www.djdraydel.com/ https://twitter.com/Draydel http://instagram.com/draydel http://youtube.com/user/DJDraydel https://plus.google.com/u/djdraydel http://myspace.com/DJDraydel https://www.facebook.com/TheRealDraydel
