I’m going to be using a reference file from my latest single “GOODASGOLD” to show you how to tune 808 in FL Studio. If you like the drop, you can check it out, the link is below. So we’re going to go to tune your 808’s. And I already tuned mine, so for the sake of tutorials, I’m going to pitch it up 4 semitones, which is 400 cents. So I pitch it up. Just to give you an idea, this is the actual drop.
    *plays drops*

So basically how you tune bass in FL Studio it is, you bring in the sample. After you bring in the sample, you wanted to link it to a mixer channel and in that mixer channel, you want to open up and select “Pitcher” – every FL Studio has it.
So after you do that, I’m playing the “C” note, but nothing is playing, and that is because the minimum Hz is below the sub bass, so it cannot be heard. So go below min 25Hz and also click ‘All’. So now when you play it, when I play “C”, its kind of going into a “D#/E”, one, two, three and four -oh look at that, about 4 semitones. So it’s basically hitting an “E”, at first its hitting an “E”, and then it’s going to a “D#” because the sub is fading out. So in order to get it to be matched up to the keyboard to tune 808s in fruity loops, it needs to be in the root note of “C” and it’s its not, then you’re going to be playing your sub bass notes, your 808s, to the wrong key. And you need to be in key, this is more of like a music theory thing, if you don’t understand it, that’s okay, its not much of a big deal these days. *LOL*

So basically you need to tune and change it to a root note of “C”. So I’m pressing “C” right now and it’s not playing in “C” its playing like an E. So when you press a “C” and you see what note it’s playing in, and its playing in an E and you go to your 808, you click on the sample, then click MISC, and make sure you click “CUT ITSELF” is selected. This number can change for you, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure it’s cut. But what happens when you press that is when you click that and you play the sample 808 note, and then you play another 808 note, its going to stop the original 808 note you played and it will play the next sample note.

So your 808 tuned in FL Studio notes aren’t overlapping and you don’t have phasing issues and low end cancellations of frequencies and stuff like that. You after you go to your MISC, and when you play “C” and it’s showing it’s playing “E” so you go to your piano keys and above you see it’s selected orange, but since you’re playing it in “C” but coming out in “E”. Right click above the note that it’s playing in, in this case it would be “E”. This will then turn the space above “E”, orange. Right click above the note that it’s actually playing in. So now when you play a “C”, it’s playing in “C”. So basically you put on pitcher, put it all the way down to 25Hz min, and press “C” and see what note it’s playing. Then you set that note that it’s playing, as the root note in the MISC section by right clicking above that note so that it turns orange.

If you want to learn how to add more SLAP to your bass, you want it to hit harder, you don’t want it to fade out, you want your kick to stand through the mix – anything and all advice and tutorial, I have more videos on FL Studio, Ableton, Pro Tools and Traktor for DJing if you guys DJ. I’m also a mechanical engineer, I build things and put together things, I built a pop up party car that I travel the country with popping up in random downtown areas and colleges and we have a huge, fun time.

    Draydel

Growing up in northern Miami, there was always an issue that had to be dealt with. There had to be a way to escape. There had to be something they could do to elude their everlasting problems. Everyone had their own way. He had his. While being introduced to music at a young age, Daniel Sado, formally known as ‘Draydel,’ also had the opportunity to become involved with the lyrical expression of music as well. With kids freestyling behind the school, and the late night mixes on the radio, this made for the perfect combination to spark an everlasting love for the art. With much research, and many months saving money, Draydel bought his first pair of turntables at the age of 12. Ever since then, his love for music has expanded and grown into something more than just a hobby. It’s his life. He began searching through his parent’s attic, looking for old record albums to practice with. When he found the crates, he took a few back into his room and began cutting them up – until his dad found out. Furious, his father threatened to smash his turntables and grounded him for a while. This gave Draydel some time to sit and think about the ‘hobby’ he might be pursuing. At last, when his punishment ended, the decision was made to stick with what he loved, music. Draydel expanded his love for music into many other elements such as graffiti, MCing, DJing and b-boying. Needless to say, DJing was the most predominant characteristic of them all, so he narrowed in on that, and expanded his knowledge. He moved his way into the producing aspect of music just a year later, at the age of 14. With no one by his side, Draydel learned everything the hard way – from scratch. Sitting in his room for hours going through each sound until he found one he liked, started to become a daily routine. At just 19 years old, Draydel entered a beat battle held by T-Pain’s Tour DJ (at the time), DJ Lil Boy up in Tallahasse which is the home of T-Pain. To make a long story short, he performed at the highest level and gained Lil Boy’s attention and wanted to sign Draydel instantaneously. After a few closed door conversations, Draydel, his manager and DJ Lil Boy agreed on the numbers and he was now a part of their team! After a year, Draydel moved back down to Miami but continuously works with them even after moving back. After the move back down to South FL, he landed himself a job as an Audio Engineer & Record Producer in the Hip-Hop Department at Critical Recording Studios. Constant daily grinding and hard work paid off and he eventually got a promotion as the ‘Hip-Hop Department Manager’ on top of his already lengthy resume. During all of this, Draydel finished building his website and began managing singer/songwriter Senerio, who later then moved to New York City. Draydel began landing gigs at local night clubs at the same time finishing up recording Senerio’s second album, Eden. Currently he is teamed up with local producer, Klaudiophile, to create an EDM Production group called “StikShift” which begins touring first quarter of 2015. In the mean time, Draydel continues to collaborate on records with local and well known artists throughout the world to spread positivity and timeless music. Draydel’s style is nothing less than head turning. His style doesn’t only focus on hip hop beats, but with his background of music and love for all genres, he has a versatile ear for creating music from each end of the musical spectrum – scoring films to EDM and creating pop music. Currently residing in Miami, Draydel plans to continue on with creating his legacy by any means necessary. As a Record Producer, Audio Engineer, DJ, Web/GFX Designer, Videographer as well as a personal manager of an artist all at the same time, Draydel continues to surprise. With 25+ mixtapes under his belt, there are no plans on stopping anytime in the near future. Thousands of beats & sessions have been placed under his belt, hoping one day soon, someone will see the talent he has, and the rest will be history. http://www.djdraydel.com/ https://twitter.com/Draydel http://instagram.com/draydel http://youtube.com/user/DJDraydel https://plus.google.com/u/djdraydel http://myspace.com/DJDraydel https://www.facebook.com/TheRealDraydel
