DECAP @decapmusic is a San Francisco-based record producer and sound designer whose samples and sound design has quietly shaped the sonic backbone of modern music. You can’t avoid his Drums That Knock sounds in iconic pop records by the GOATs of the industry like Beyoncé, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, and many others, making Drums That Knock a go-to resource for producers across pop, hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music. Specific placements include Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG, Charli XCX’s “Move Me,” the Doechii and SZA collab “Persuasive,” and Karol G’s “Culpables,” among countless others.

It started in 2016 when DECAP released the first volume of Drums That Knock on Splice — a response, as he described it, to producers constantly asking how he got his drums to hit so hard. The series took off immediately, debuting at #1 on Splice and sparking a decade-long run that has now reached eleven volumes. Built for hip-hop, trap, future bass, and beyond, the packs are engineered to sit in a mix out of the box, each kick, snare, and hi-hat processed to be punchy, balanced, and radio-ready.

In this video, well respected producers from across the genre spectrum sat down to shed light on DECAP’s impact on producer culture and beyond. From his defining thick saturated sonic signature to the trend-setting styles, DECAP’s sounds are undeniable.

Today DECAP has launched “DECAP – Knock Audio” – the sound pack label built around the highest standard of quality and attention to detail. DECAP spent years obsessing over what makes a drum not just sound good, but feel good – shaping kicks, snares, and 808s until they hit with the kind of clarity and weight you notice before you even process what you’re hearing. That obsession carries that standard forward: premium, original sounds from the mind of DECAP – one of modern music’s most trusted ears – engineered to punch through mixes, move bodies, and spark ideas from the jump. Each and every sound is mix-ready, trusted at the top of the charts, and built for producers who refuse to settle. This is the new standard. This is what KNOCKS.
