Hard Knock Tv’s Nick Huff Barili sits down with 6ix for in-depth interview and exclusive production break down of Logic’s “YSIV”. Part 1 starts with 6ix breaking down his and Logic’s single “The Return”, which set the tone for the new Young Sinatra 4 album. This is for the real ones that want to know all the details that go into making a song! Not only does 6ix tell stories of how him and Logic work together but he also opens up the FL Studio file and the shows the plug-ins he used. 6ix breaks down how he sampled Nina Simone’s “Wild is The Wind” after being inspired by No ID and how he flipped Nina Simone’s “Four Women” sample for Jay-Z’s “Story of O.J.” 6ix says that for YSIV he rarely used 808’s like he mainly used for Bobby Tarantino 2. 6ix explains that the 808’s are currently the signature sound of Trap music which he ties back to Lex Luger and the 808s and hi hats rolls sound he made famous. For “The Return” 6ix was inspired by the Kayne produced Talib Kweli track “Get By” and Kanye’s own “I Wonder”. For 6ix putting together the Nina Simone sample was like putting together a puzzle, an approach that he also heard The Alchemist speak on. This is just the beginning of our interview!!
